Local Spotlight: Rice & Co. Woodworks

As a small business owner myself, I know how important the local community is to the success of a small business. I plan to feature small businesses in our community in an effort to support each other, and I’d like to start with one that is very special to me: Rice & Co. Woodworks.

I’m not going to hide it - this is my husband’s business. And I’m SO proud of him. So, while this local series will continue to spotlight local businesses that I have no affiliation with, my first spotlight is going to be a little more personal.

My husband, Ben, founded Rice & Co. Woodworks in 2021. It began in an 8x10 shed in the backyard of our old home, and it has turned into his full time business (in a much larger building). In the beginning, he was mostly building small pieces of furniture and doing handyman work. As time went on, he realized he wanted to focus on cabinetry, and he has turned it into a thriving business that builds custom cabinetry for clients all along the Emerald Coast.
